Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is also referred to as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins in the United States as well as Mexico, is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She anchors SportsNation and serves as a SportsCenter anchor. She joined ESPN in 2016. The child of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was bi-lingual since nine years old, a valuable skill that helped her secure her first position working as an assistant to the producer at Univision in Miami which provided her with the opportunity to collaborate with producers of national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. She was hired as an reporter at The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. In 2009 she moved to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an investigative reporter for The Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In 2009, she moved to Rio Grande Valley, Texas, where she became a journalist for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Also, she would fill in at times as a news and sport anchor. She then anchored and reported at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She also did segments on the Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. The Univision 23 channel also produced her local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. She has been promoted to anchor the sports segment on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. As a sports anchor she also worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports channel). Antonietta Collin's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd the 22nd of November, 1984 in Mexico City. There is also a younger sibling. Her family relocated into Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. She divorced her parents shortly thereafter and, in 1995, she was married an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 of kidney cancer. In the course of a family holiday in Ohio, the young Collins took a place alongside her elder sister. Antonietta, a high-school senior with an idea of what she wanted her future to be like, visited Mount Union University to determine if the school suited her. In the end she fell in love with the university. They also offered her a major. She graduated from high school and began studying media at the University. Mark Bergmann, her professor who also managed WRMU's 91.1FM station for which she worked for a number of years, was an acquaintance. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her with his enthusiasm for journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
